Dancer's Theater Company...a moving experience

Dancers’ Theatre Company . . . a moving experience is a non profit 501(c)(3) children’s and young adult creative process performing company of gifted and talented children from 6 – 18 years of age. These children have had a minimum of three years in modern dance instruction and relentlessly create art in all forms, particularly Modern Dance.

The Dancers’ Theatre Company presents children’s works and the emerging artistic works of its’ faculty and staff in legitimate proscenium theatre. . These young artists not only learn the skills and art of modern dance, choreography and improvisation but the language of emotional and social literacy. Many children create their choreographies from the painting and poetry they design and form. Many children create the music for their expression. Dance is the perfect format for the artistically talented. You don’t have to be a dancer to dance and create dance. (Refer to Bill T. Jones). Many of these children choreograph life’s biographies. DTC’s Repertory, i.e., Choreographers Concert for Celebration of the Child, Tresses of a Day Star, Desert Ocean Dance, And, Let There Be Light, Children of the Rainbow Garden are all three act plays of dance music and art in proscenium stage performance or black box staged at one of Salt Lake’s finest performance halls, Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts, Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah Campus, Salt Lake Art Center, or the Capitol Theater. Additional community performance opportunities and staging are given during the year such as the Celebration of Life at Kingsbury Hall for one of the students who was taken in the 2004 tsunami.
